Owl Grove great for kids and adults

Winter 2009-10 newsletter

by Lynda Amaral

Book jacket cover.

You don't have to be a bird watcher to appreciate Owl Grove, written and photographed by Bobbie Snead and Terry Irish and illustrated by Jean Germano.

This endearing adventure is about a family of barn owls.Although the book is written for children, adults can learn a lesson from it also.

The respect and consideration Snead and her sister show for the owl family is an important example for us all.
The photographs are exquisite and the illustrations very well done. I get the feeling Baby Owl knew something special was being written about him.

Snead teaches for the Salem Youth Environmental Education Program and is a naturalist. Using her experience in presenting educational information about the creatures we share this world with to children, she has done an excellent job of telling us something about barn owls in Owl Grove.
