Summer camp kids show off their animal creations.
See our photo gallery of this event.
As part of our efforts to reach out to the community and provide educational opportunities, Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary held its first summer camp. Children learned about the sanctuary as well as basic care for animals while enjoying a morning at the farm.
Animal experts and Oregon certified teachers designed the program to make it both educational and fun. The activities included learning the 5 basic needs of animals, playing games, making masks, listening to a story, petting the animals, and feeding the animals treats.
The camp was such a success that we plan to make it an annual event. If your kids missed out on it this year, look for it again next summer. You can send us an email if you would like to be placed on a contact list to receive information about next year's camp.
